HSS is committed towards each student’s academic development, while simultaneously focusing on the development of habits and life-long values. Prior to admission, an interview and test is conducted between members of the admissions committee and the parents in order to build a strong foundation for a life-long relationship.
Interview Tips & Guidelines:
-
Please expect to spend approximately 30 minutes on campus. The interview should not last more than 15 minutes.
-
Punctuality is of great essence. Please reach at least 5 minutes prior to your scheduled interview time.
-
Parents are expected to dress and behave professionally. Assessing and evaluating the decorum of the parents is a key component of the interview.
-
All cell phones must be kept on silent during the interview.
-
The interview focuses on areas that are related to our core curriculum.
-
To prepare your child for the interview, help them to listen and follow simple instructions.
-
Prepare your child by asking them to observe surroundings, numbers, colors, shapes, alphabets, certain words written on books, newspapers or the display boards at shops and malls.
-
When your child speaks or writes, keep encouraging them in order to build their confidence.
-
Ask open-ended questions that give the child an opportunity to think critically and answer.
-
Parents must be extremely patient and must not get nervous during the interview, otherwise the child will end up fearing the interview as well.
Admission Test Guidelines
-
The test papers are not set from any particular text book but are devised to test the aptitude of applicant. These assessments are of general nature.
-
Applicant must bring his/her own stationery for the test.
-
The question paper will be constructed on close ended questions where students will be evaluated for student response to select or produce simple responses that can be directly compared with a single correct answer and open ended questions where they will be evaluated for their critical thinking skills and the real-life application of their learnt concepts.
